Hi,
I’m using FTP to move a PDS from the mainframe to my Windows system, but the members aren’t coming through correctly. Tried both binary and ASCII — still off. Anyone had this issue before? What’s the right sequence of commands?
Regards,

Hello.
If you're trying to transfer something with binary, packed, or floating point numbers in it, then you're going to have problems. Transfer in ASCII and those numerics will be corrupted by the EBCDIC to ASCII translation. Transfer in binary and the numbers will remain intact but the text data will still be in EBCDIC. The way around it is to convert your numerics into readable text then transfer that in ASCII mode.
If that's not the cause of your issues, then what precisely is the problem with the data you have transferred?
