Block an IP address from being sent files.

Post by Sushil »

Hi,

We have a Table, this is actually a VSAM file but contains IP addresses at region level and called as table in our system. Some of our colleagues is not making sure the test IP address is being used for testing purpose, instead they are using production IPs, which is ending up posting data to production server. Is there a way to prevent it?

What are you doing with production and test data in the same data set?
Separate production data from test data. Standard practice.

Oh yes, like this, translation provided by Google:

"My father and I lived together and we owned a television and a radio, he was a widower and I was single, and now a handsome widow and equally beautiful daughter lived below us, but they did not have a television nor a radio. I fell in love with the beautiful widow and married her. My father married the daughter and then the misery began. When my father married the daughter of my wife and thus also my daughter, my daughter is now my mother. At the same time I am her father, for I am married to the mother, my father is my father's father-in-law, because I am his son and her husband, but my father is also the son-in-law of my mother-in-law, and so I am his father-in-law, because I am with his mother-in-law. I am married but that is not all ... My wife gets a son and now the misery really starts!!!

My son is my son first of all. Good, but he is also the brother of my mother-in-law, because she is the daughter of my wife. However, he is also the brother-in-law of my father and thus I am his nephew (he is my uncle) and therefore the cousin of my mother-in-law, because she is the sister of my uncle (son) and so my mother-in-law is my aunt. But it gets worse, it almost gets out of hand ...

The young woman of my father becomes mother and her son becomes my brother. My own son is also the uncle of my grandchild, because he is the brother of my daughter. My wife is my grandmother, because my father's son is the child of my wife's daughter her grandfather ... understand, the grandfather my brother's. Since my brother's grandfather is also my grandfather, I am my own grandfather !!!"

When I tell somebody to RTFM or STFW I usually have the page open in another tab/window of my browser,
so that I am sure that the information requested can be reached with a very small effort 8-)

Tables are different but when the data is copied for testing, it happens.

So improve your testing copy process!
