Two offers - which one should I consider?
Hi,
One of my friends has asked me, "I have two offers in hand, one with 24 LPA that is in other town and other is 21 LPA LPA with permanent WFH. Which one should I consider and why? Any opinion would be appreciated."

Re: Two offers - which one should I consider?
This pretty much is a personal choice. And if someone is confused with that much money on disposal and asking a direction on a Forum, I'm not sure if they really deserve it. With that rant here are two cents:
If the personal choice is to stay with family, WFH is a good choice. If the person comes from 2nd or 3rd tier cities in India and had been living in metro - the parity difference is not that big now a days, what it used to be - an obvious choice is to stay back at native, provided you like such a life style. Another factor to consider is to stay back at your home, where one is now, and work from there.
If the choice is to stay in this job for some time and the other company you might plan to join in future, is in a given city you don't stay currently - good you plan to go there. If 'that city' is a different than the one currently being part of offer - not much of a choice you have. As I said before, these are very personal choices and are endless - suggest your friend madidate - write down pros and cons, weigh them and takes a decision. Good Luck!

If the experience is less than 10 years, you should accept the offer with more salary. Then later you'll have age on your side to change. In India, there are very very few job for mainframe experienced resources. I heard that only abroad, specially in U.S. mainframe programmers are getting retired but we in India are not even treated respectfully if we are senior. They treat them as liability.

I would say go with more money. Have not you heard about the current lay-offs? What's the benefit to work for so called 'good company"?
