Can someone please guide on how to extend the retention period of a PS or PDS in tso. Is it possible to use REXX too for this?

Generally, one does not have retention periods on DASD datasets - only tapes. If you really need to the you should seek the help of your storage group as there may be special SMS rules that can be set up or used if they already exist and these rules are site specific.

If you have a PDS that is expiring, you MUST contact your site support group and work with them. Some sites are set up to remove certain disk data sets after a certain period of time, but such processes are completely and totally dependent upon the site. Hence, there is no way we can give you guidance -- only someone working AT YOUR SITE could possibly help you.
