Microsoft Small Basic is a simplified variant of the BASIC programming language, developed by Microsoft. With a bare minimum of concepts, Microsoft accredits this as an easy programming language for beginners to grasp. The language itself has only 14 keywords and the environment is beginner-friendly, with a straightforward interface.

With a friendly development environment that is very easy to master, it eases students of all ages into the world of programming. Microsoft Small Basic is a project that is aimed at making computer programming accessible to beginners. The project comprises a simple programming language that gathers inspiration from the original BASIC programming language; a modern and attractive programming environment; and rich, extensible libraries. Together they make programming fun for kids and adults alike.
