What is response code 0002 while doing Rewrite statement on CICS and how can we avoid it?

There has been a communications breakdown somewhere. Response code 2 is RDATT and applies ONLY to EXEC CICS RECEIVE MAP on a 2741 terminal for which the read attention flag has been set and the operator uses the attention key instead of the enter key. None of these conditions would apply to an EXEC CICS REWRITE command, hence I can be sure that there is a communications breakdown.
