Hello! I'm Van Ludwig, a junior cobol programmer working for Banco do Brasil in Brasil for 7 months. This is my first experience with mainframe and my first job as a programmer.
I work with Cobol (only online for now) and test programs with REXX (using T-REXX). Never used JCL nor touched batch programs. I know a little about CICS, Adabas Natural 2, DB2, SQL and TSO.
In the near future I plan to stop programming and focus on a mainframe carrer, but I still don't know what path to take.

Welcome to the forum!
I think the way to start deciding the path to take is to look at what you really like doing the most.In the near future I plan to stop programming and focus on a mainframe carrer, but I still don't know what path to take.

It's like saying if all married are happy - what's the answer? Well , it depends on your taste - that's the answer.
Look for most of the different profiles available in your shop for mainframe. Talk to the associates in those profile - figure out if what they say and what you look forward to... has something in common. If at first you don't succeed, try again and choose.
You might want to look this for Roles in the mainframe world: https://www.ibm.com/support/knowledgece ... Troles.htm
Hope this helps and good luck!
Thanks,
Anuj
