Post by Vivek Soni »

Hi,

We have a job which was recently changed and it abended because we learned that the class which we were using does not allow to use IMS BMP step and a Fusion step. Is there a way that tells us the information the CLASS?

Talk to your site support group. What is allowed with each job class is specific to each individual site, and what works at one site will fail miserably at another site. Hence, we cannot help you since we don't work at your site. Only your site support group can help you.

Thanks. I read about at ISMF, can that panel help to identify any information about CLASSES? We have sent across the email to Site Support but they helped only for the abended Jobs.

ISMF is IBM's Interactive Storage Management Facility. And since job classes have NOTHING to do with storage management, there is no job class information in ISMF. Job classes are defined in the JES PARMLIB, and the name for that data set is site-specific. An example of job class definitions:

Code: Select all

JOBCLASS(*)     AUTH=ALL,ACCT=NO,BLP=YES,COMMAND=DISPLAY,JOURNAL=NO,
                MSGLEVEL=(1,1),PGMRNAME=NO,REGION=6M,TIME=(120,0),
                SWA=ABOVE,SYSSYM=ALLOW
JOBCLASS(R)     TIME=(1400,0),SYSSYM=ALLOW
JOBCLASS(S)     TIME=(1400,0),SYSSYM=ALLOW
JOBCLASS(T)     TIME=(300,0),SYSSYM=ALLOW
JOBCLASS(STC)   TIME=(1439,00),PROCLIB=01,MSGCLASS=Z
JOBCLASS(TSU)   TIME=(1439,00),PROCLIB=01,MSGCLASS=Z
JOBCLASS(0)     SCAN=YES,SYSSYM=ALLOW
/*                                                                   */
JOBDEF   ACCTFLD=OPTIONAL,CNVT_ENQ=WAIT,
         PRTYJECL=YES,PRTYJOB=NO,
         PRTYLOW=5,PRTYHIGH=10,PRTYRATE=3,
         JOBNUM=20000,JOBWARN=80,
You need to go back to your site support group and get them to help you since the job class data above is NOT what your site will be using.
