What kind of "insight" are you wanting? What it is? How it is used? Why it is used? Details of implementation? Something else you did not explain?

Basically, your question is so broad as to be meaningless.

Google is your friend. Googling cics uri map entry provides about 2,700 results and among the first is a link to IBM's CICS Transaction Server for z/OS 5.3.0 bookshelf and the CICSPLEX SM resource tables and views reference manual in particular, which says
The URI map (URIMAP) views display information about the universal resource identifier (URI) of requests from web clients or requests to a remote server.
The same page says URIMAP views available actions are DISABLE, DISCARD, ENABLE, SET.

You really need to spend some time reading, now if you are dealing with web client requests or remote server requests.
