Hi Harsimran and welcome to the Forums,

It's nice to know about your nick name. I could not guess that ! :)

What are the technologies you work on. It'd be nice to know them as well.

Thanks Anuj.  I started working with COBOL , VSAM , DB2 , JCL and from 8 months I am moved to Pli based project.
I am beginner to Pli and working to gain knowledge on PLI and CICS.

Tools worked upon - Endevor , File aid , spufi , DMWB , Telon screens , Intertest , Insync. :)

I am having very less exposure to online Mainframe CICS. but looking forward to learn .

Yeah, I saw other post of yours on PL/I- have posted some links out there. Hopefully they help you. CICS is fun and I think learning it completes the circle as an application programmer. :)

Yes I downloaded the books / pdfs from those links and start looking into it.

Yes you are right, With CICS only we are complete application programmer but here we rarely get chance to work on such projects. But you can suggest ways to learn by own in simple bookish language. So that atleast we can cover gud topics from CICS. I have some refresher docs but that are not easily understandable.

For CICS I can not think of a way to "practice it at home" unless you have Hercules up and running. There are some pay-for-products which claim to provide IDE for CICS but I have not verified them as they are paid-products.

Thanks Anuj for response. I will try to work with hercules, once I wrap up other learning things which I can easily do it .

hercules is an hardware emulator,

You will need a modern operating system to run CICS,
and the IBM licencing rules do not allow to run it under hercules
