Hi,

Do we have some free Mainframe simulator somewhere? I want to do some practice from my home. I am not sure in absence of such a thing how does one learn it? Your guidance in this is highly appreciated.

There is the Hercules emulator. Be aware, though, that you will have to be your own sysprog.

Continuing on what Akatsukami has said...

This link gives details about the Hercules System/370, ESA/390, and z/Architecture Emulator http://www.conmicro.cx/hercules/. Visit this site for hercules manuals: http://www.jaymoseley.com/hercules/.

Volker Bandke's: User Documentation Effort is stored at: http://www.bsp-gmbh.com/hercules/.

And MVS Turkey System, Version 3 is available at: http://www.bsp-gmbh.com/turnkey/ . Can download from here too, possibly: http://www.bsp-gmbh.com/turnkey/tk3_faq.html and http://www.ibiblio.org/jmaynard/turnkey-mvs-3.zip (ISO Image) .
