Hi,

When I use ISPF 3.13 it shows the comparison between two files. To see to the right of the screen I press F11 and it shows like this:

Code: Select all

TYPE LEN N-LN# O-LN#

MAT= 9
RPL= 1 00005 00005

What does MAT and RPL mean? Are they short for MATCH and REPLACE? But if so what does MAT=9 mean?

Thanks you.

Remember that your 3.13 means nothing, necessarily, to anyone else. The ISPF panels are customisable. So, what is it that your title of your 3.13?

MAT=9 means 9 matches in a row were found. RPL is replace; you can also have INS for insert and DEL for delete when records don't match.

And the place to look is the F1 key or the manual.
