Hi ,

Could anyone please explain me about the VOL parameter in the below code

// LABEL=RETPD=1096,VOL=(,RETAIN,,25)

The VOL parameter is described quite well in the JCL Reference manual in the MVS bookshelf for your release of z/OS. The RETAIN indicates that the tape should be kept mounted for a later step to use; the 25 indicates up to 25 tape volumes may be needed for the data set. The commas are NOT optional.
