Hi,

What is the difference between package in DB2, Endevor or Chanegman. Please guide this novice.

Terminology in IT is critical since similar terms can mean very different things. This is one of those cases.

DB2 packages are defined by IBM as "control-structure database objects that contain executable forms of SQL statements or placement holders for executable forms".

To Endevor, "A package is a group of CA Endevor SCM actions that requires approval before it can be executed. Creating packages lets you group specific actions so they can be maintained and tracked as a single unit, establish formal approval procedures to ensure data integrity through modifications, and centralize specific action groups so you can see them across environments and reuse them."

To Changeman, "A change package is a secure development environment using rules stored in your security system. A change package consists of descriptive information, control parameters, component metadata, history information, and a set of libraries containing the software components being changed."
