Hi

I am working with IMS File-Aid and for a testing purpose, I need to insert a child segment in an IMS database. When there are existing child segements using RA in front of any parent segment will help to create a new parent and child segment. But in this scenario, this IMS is a new DB and any of the parent segment doesnot have a child in the Database.

Please help me know how to do this?

From my notes (dated 1998)

Insert a segment occurrence when one does not exist of the type needed.
Select the parent in formatted mode
Use primary command INSERT segment format eg
INSERT segname
