Ideally all those things should be optional installations - I do not want unused code sitting on my hard-drive. The OS should consist of the OS and everything else, including the GUI interface, should be optional installations. My ideal would be the OS and GUI interface that can switch to command line interface much like Desktop and Start screen switch in W8 (Of course, if Microsoft were to pay me rental for using my disk space...)
