Hi everyone!
I need a help with Cobol code. Perform varying should read copybook with 88-level fields. Does anyone know - how to do this?
Thank you in advance.

Re: Perform varying and 88 level
As stated, your question makes no sense. A copybook is SOURCE code and as such is used during the compile process. PERFORM VARYING is executed code and hence will NEVER, under any circumstances, be reading a copybook -- compile time and execution time are completely different (and may be separated by anything from a few seconds to many years). You either need to explain more about what you're doing, or accept that copybooks are not used during program execution and find a more realistic problem to spend your time on.Perform varying should read copybook with 88-level fields. Thank you for the response. You're right, I am still confused about details. I need to clarify it in my head and create a better explanation. Thank you again.

If you can figure out what you want to know and post your question, we should be able to answer it. There is plenty of COBOL experience on this forum.
