Hi,
We are trying to quantify the DB2 usage at our site. When we enquired the only capapcity person in our site he said that IMS logs have been approtioned to have DB2 uses as well. Is it possible and what does it mean? He says that always.
Our is IMS shop mainly and DB2 use is very less. Can someone please help to get the IMS and DB2 usages seperately.
DB2 usage is approtioned in to IMS logs.

Re: DB2 usage is approtioned in to IMS logs.
Hi ,
If you are looking for which IMS threads connects to DB2 you can use DB2 Accounting Trace . Run report using Omegamon for DB2 on smf datasets.
In case of IMS everything(performance, accounting, stat, audit , change logs) exist/IMS records in IMS Logs . DB2 records only data changes in DB2 Active/Archive Logs so in case of recovery of a thread(work) which was initiated from IMS both the logs (IMS log and DB2 Logs) will be used to recover data to consistent point .
If you ask same question on IMS board someone will help you out with the utility to run on IMS logs to extract information of the programmes connecting to DB2 . I believe this is what "DB2 usage is approtioned in to IMS logs." means.
Hope this helps .
