Hi
My name is Malcolm McNeill and live in Glasgow Scotland.
I am a freelance senior IT project manager with many years experience in the IT industry.
I am currently managing a major project to convert 25,000 old legacy OS/VS COBOL to be Enterprise COBOL compliant, for a major financial services company in Scotland.
I manage a team of technical experts onshore (in Edinburgh), and responsible for a team of around 75 COBOL developers offshore (Chennai and Hyderabad). The offshore team are responsible for converting a percentage of the programs through a custom built tool, with the residual programs being manually changed.
This obviously will take a significant amount of testing to prove that before and after are the same.
Additionally we are looking to migrate all source code to a Endevor and implement using this next summer 2017.
Thank you.
Malcolm

Hello and welcome to the Forums [username|#000000|normal|2274]cragabus[/username],
It's nice to know about you experience and current area of working. You seem to get involved with a long work - what is the duration in which you plan to complete the task
In CICS TS one can no longer run OS/VS COBOL programs - is this one of the driving force behind the move?
