What style are you using?

Post by Anuj Dhawan »

Hi,

With the help of Style menu
Styles.png
you can choose a different style from a default one, at your end - just curious, which one are you using? And what default do you see, when you browse to this website?
You do not have the required permissions to view the files attached to this post.
Thanks,
Anuj

Was using ordinary prosilver. Now, after becoming aware of new options, I'm experimenting with forumbook. Will let you know...

Sure, take your time - I'm also using the forumbook. Kinda like the way it places the "Recent Posts" on the top.
Thanks,
Anuj

prosilver
it' s the one with the widest display area
cheers

When I tell somebody to RTFM or STFW I usually have the page open in another tab/window of my browser,
so that I am sure that the information requested can be reached with a very small effort 8-)

To play with the width, try User Control Panel > Board preferences > Edit display options > Use maximum width > Select "Yes" > Submit - you might see visible differences for some of the styles.
Thanks,

You're welcome.

This option is custom made for this board - you might not find it on other, similar, boards.
Thanks,
Anuj

The only thing I don't like on the forumbook is the big I in the top left corner. Having got used to the Quick links being top left, it would be nice if it were in the same place. Some indication of what the big I was would be useful, although I guess it generates traffic to the blog :-)

Otherwise I'm liking it. Didn't know about customisable options either :-)

Anything else that is there we may like to know about... I suppose I can have a look myself...

Hate the "recent topics" at the top.
But to the original point - I use Prosilver SE with widest setting.

This style mimics the Facebook, so you see "Quick Links" on right.

"I" is the first letter of the Forum name "IBM Mainframes, MVS & zOS Support Forums" - if the Forum name changes, it will also change.

I think there us not much to know more. A small thing which, knowing which might be of interest, is - if you are using the default width of the Forum, links on the bottom ("Contact Us"..etc.) will shrink to a "menu like drop-down" - specially with prosilver Special Edition. With Forumbook, they are visible by default.

OTOH, "Home" and "I" connects to Blog, I just thought it might help some of us to write there. :)
Thanks,
Anuj

LOL - was expecting that is coming!

"Recent Topic" looks nice with "Forumbook".

May look nice but the only use it has is to show if there are new posts - which can be achieved by scrolling through the sections.
