user statistics

Post by enrico-sorichetti »

it would be nice/useful/interesting to have in the user statistics
in addition to the total posts
also the number and the links to the topics started
cheers
enrico
When I tell somebody to RTFM or STFW I usually have the page open in another tab/window of my browser,
so that I am sure that the information requested can be reached with a very small effort 8-)

Hi,

I don't think that we really need it? What purpose it is going to be used for?

well... I do ...

looking at the topics started
helps me to provide answers with the proper level of detail
and to screen people not worth my time

don' t You think that a few thousandths posts make me know what I am doing ...
( not just here but in a few other zOS/MVS related forums )
cheers

I agree with enrico. Didn't notice it missing til now, but once people asking questions have more that a few posts, it is very useful to be able to see what they have asked before, and how they respond to follow-ups.

I also agree and disagree.

For someone like me who are not that experienced will be scrutinized badly because of this...I think, as on other Forums...

So if I could not follow up on a particular topic I'll be penalized for others too?

it is not an issue of experience, but of attitude!
and... yes You ((generic) will be judged for it

remember also

we answer on our own time and free of charge
we spend time to recreate the problems and test the solutions

so it is up to You (generic) to earn the right to be helped
cheers

Yes, but it cuts both ways.

If you have previously not responded to questions, or taken note of suggestions, I'll remind on the next topic. I'll do that twice. If you continue to ignore, I statr to ignore. We are not just a drop-in give-me-an-answer service.

If you do already respond well to requests for information, formatting of post, quality of test-data etc, then you'll likely get a quicker answer. If someone puts more effort in, they get more reward.

Without the link to your posts in the topic, I'm more likely to be confused about who is who. You yourself don't want to "suffer" for me confusing you with someone else, do you?
