Re: What is MFS? It's embedded with IMS DC or..?
Message Format Service (MFS) is a facility of the IMS Transaction Manager environment and it formats messages - it's part of IMS. Initially passing some information to computers using "terminals" was not device independent. MFS came in existence so that IMS application programs do not deal with device-specific characteristics in input or output messages.
