Hi,
IMS DC and CICS are both online systems in mainframes right? In my company we use IMS DB as database but we use CICS as online system. Why don't we use IMS DC for online system? Why CICS is preferred is there a reason?

You should ask the powers of Your organisation...Why don't we use IMS DC for online system? Why CICS is preferred is there a reason?

This is mostly to do with decisions someone has taken at the time of creating the architecture for your shop. I'm not sure if you really mean to say like which one is better and which is not? Do you?
