When I tell somebody to RTFM or STFW I usually have the page open in another tab/window of my browser,
so that I am sure that the information requested can be reached with a very small effort 8-)

I also spent some time reading there but after some time it does get boring. And yes, needless to say about the behavior, at times, is like - it's my way or highway...

But to your point Pandora - do you think we can generate the interest here for the problems there?

Thanks,
Anuj

I mean the idea is for me to have quiz kind of stuff in terms of creating programs thus which will make ppl to solve or try and thus making the forum more interactive ..

so we can ensure participation still happens even if there is nothing to ask

Any thoughts please

any problem to be solved by programming gains by using a quick to deliver environment
and while the MF environment is business effective it is by no means quick

probably most of the people will end up solving the problems on their PC using
c, c++, Python, ...

the problems on euler were solved using all kind of programming languages
a few of them even with paper and pencil

so IMHO targeting them at the MF is a pulling a bit the string

Hi Enrico,

What I was trying to mean was with a wide notion something like project euler and which might help more participation and people trying to solve them..

IMHO posting quizzes implies lots of time researching, thinking, ... in order to post something original

in any case I feel that true IT professional should not have the need for any stimulation

I have often ranted on the other forums on how people
instead of using their neurons or worse a simple google search
just lazily ask on a forum and wait to be spoon fed
( see for example the classic question ...
I received the XYZ.... message ... , help me, what should I do ?
and they get pissed when somebody replies RTFM and follow the actions suggested )

I wonder why nobody has ever quoted the ROSETTA CODE URL
http://rosettacode.org/wiki/Category:Programming_Tasks
lots of examples of common problems solved using quite a lot of different languages
