getting proper education on any MF environment is going to be pretty hard without the support of You employer
on the other side You can well exercise the chief aspect of DB2/SQL by installing on your PC the REAL thing
see here
http://www.ibm.com/developerworks/downl ... b2express/
on how to install a DB2 environment in Your workstation
and if You had googled with "db2 starter guide"
You would have found

When I tell somebody to RTFM or STFW I usually have the page open in another tab/window of my browser,
so that I am sure that the information requested can be reached with a very small effort

IBM-DB2 express-C is an excellent way to learn DB2, I've used it and found it really overwhelming. What else you need - it's free to install!
Start from what Enrico has suggested to.
Happy Learning!

Thanks Enrico and Anuj. Along these lines do you think that do we have something which we can use to practice only SQL (at home)?
