Hi,

No there is no mainframe involved in this. They make use of "BigTable", a different concept. And it's not related to Big-Data.
Thanks,
Anuj

When I tell somebody to RTFM or STFW I usually have the page open in another tab/window of my browser,
so that I am sure that the information requested can be reached with a very small effort 8-)

As enrico has indicated, google is your friend. You've to do a bit of analysis to understand it better or to the level where it satisfies you.

To get you started you can look for these:

http://static.googleusercontent.com/med ... osdi06.pdf
http://research.google.com/archive/bigtable.html
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/BigTable

Hope this helps.
Thanks,
Anuj
