Use Google "ncr" when one is abroad.

Post by Anuj Dhawan »

Hello,

You must have noticed it - Google’s search page defaults to the local site wherever you are in the world, so if you’re in India but are from U.S. and you go to http://www.google.co.us, you’ll get http://www.google.in.

To force the browser to load the U.S site, or any international site you choose, type /ncr (‘no country return’) at the end of the URL. The whole thing will read http://www.google.co.us/ncr. For an easy reference, bookmark the amended URL, this can save you typing in the extra text each time.
Thanks,
Anuj
