Mainframe System Performance Engineer

The candidate will be a member of Enterprise Compute Services (ECS) Performance & Capacity Planning Team. As part of this results oriented group, this individual will be responsible for Mainframe System Performance support and activities in JPMorgan Chase's z/OS environment. This position will work closely with several Level 3/4 engineering support organizations such as: Automation, Application Performance, Capacity Planning, DB2/IMS, CICS, MQ, WebSphere, System Software Groups, Operations (GSO), Production Assurance and client development organizations that ensure high availability and delivery of quality support services. This high-energy, results oriented job requires a balance of strong technical skills and business processes, a sense of urgency resolving problem issues, creativity, work schedule flexibility, adaptability to changing business conditions and a commitment to customer satisfaction. 

General Responsibilities
* System Performance On-call support
* Assist with performance reviews that supports new projects (Application & Infrastructure)
* Collect performance data and provide before/after analytics supporting application deployments and/or infrastructure system changes
* Drive problem diagnostics and resolution of performance issues
* Provide input to Application Development organizations with optimal solutions, root cause analytics, problem resolution, capacity demand, etc.
* Create & present performance reports/metrics with recommendations for best in class efficiency solutions
* Monitor system and Application performance as well as managing risk to the environments
* Recommend System tuning opportunities
* Position is based in Columbus, Ohio.
Job Requirements:
Ideal candidate should have minimum of 2 years direct hands-on experience in SystemZ environments; Performance management experience is a plus. At least 1 years of current hands-on experience with performance tools such as SAS, MXG and processing of SMF data. Ability to learn & utilize performance monitoring tools such as Strobe, Omegamon/ Mainview for eyes-on-glass problem determination and root-cause analysis. Experiences in MICS, Websphere, CICS, MQ, DB2 & IMS from performance perspective is preferred.
