Job Description
The position level is within the Data Management area of the Information Technology and Services Division. This position’s primary function will be to model physical database designs and perform Database Administration activities for DB2 z/OS, IMS, and other Database Management systems.
The position level is based upon the education, skills, and experience of the candidate. A candidate could be placed in a salaried Infrastructure Administrator, System Administrator or Senior System Administrator position.

Job Requirements
Required:
Required: Must have a minimum of 2 to 5 years experience as a Database Administrator or a Developer using or managing DB2 z/OS or IMS environment.  Experience with creating or using logical and physical entity relational diagram (ERD), creating and maintaining databases, backup and recovery of databases.  Must have demonstrated project management skills by successfully completing assigned projects.  Possess the technical knowledge and skills to perform as a Database Administrator for our DB2 z/OS and IMS.
 
Preferred experience in the following areas:
[ul][li]Creating logical or physical entity relational diagram (ERD), maintaining databases, backup and recovery of databases.[/li]
[li]Experience with Unix, REXX, SSIS, and Powershell script[/li]
[li]Experience with coding SQL, Cobol, Java, .NET or C# programming languages.[/li]
[li]Understanding of Object Oriented Design, Object Relational Mapping (ORM) frameworks like JPA, XHTML, XML; batch processing using a framework like Java Batch or Spring Batch; UML diagrams; and design and code reviews.[/li]
[li]Experience with Mainframe using DB2 z/OS, IMS,  ISPF, TSO and JCL.[/li]
[li]Experience with performance tools DynaTrace, Mainview, Apptune, Data Studio, Idera[/li]
[li]An understanding of the Data Warehousing principles and processes.[/li]
[li]An understanding of the Data Dictionary and/or Repository concepts and facilities.[/li][/ul]
