Installing zLinux.

Post by Manoj »

Hi,

Linux is an open-source version of the UNIX operating system - in other words, I've its flavors which I can install on my PC for free -- is the same applicable to zLinux?

It might be trivial to ask but for a novice like me - it's tough to understand, specially when I don't have System Level accesses at zOS.

IBM supports Linux on System z, which is completely free and done under the GNU General Public License.

To extend on the reply from Robert - You might like to spent some time with this book also: Running Linux on IBM System z9 and zSeries under z/VM.

They bang start from Chapter 1 itself.
Thanks,
Anuj
