how stop a so long find command

Post by demecarv »

I was lloking for Endorsed folder under certain Websphere folder and I typed accidently find . endorsed instead of find . -name 'endorsed'. It has bee finding tousands files and I want to stop the find process but I couldn't. I tried:
1 - control C
2 - control D
3 - control Z
4 - quit
5 - QUIT
6 - Quit
7 -QuitAll
8 - exit
9 - close

All have not effect at all and the screen keeps to show me files as it is an infinite list.

When I tell somebody to RTFM or STFW I usually have the page open in another tab/window of my browser,
so that I am sure that the information requested can be reached with a very small effort 8-)

I was in Unix console after typed omvs. Then, I entered in certain websphere folder and I typed the find command wrongly which started an infinite finding process. How can I stop this?

Maybe the PA1 key? Then logoff or exit. If that doesn't work, get the OPS to cancel your TSO session. There may be neater ways :-)
