What is difference between linux and zLinux?

Post by Sparsh Verma »

hi,

Can some one please explain what is/are differences between a Linux (for example redhat enterprise linux) and zLinux? Does any java application which run on linux will run on zLinux?

How do we differentiate zLinux as far as characteristics are concerned?

zLinux is the 64bits version of Linux for IBM z ARCHITECTURE hardware

a google search with IBM REDBOOKS ZLINUX
will give You quite a few manuals to meditate on

this link for example

https://www.ibm.com/developerworks/comm ... ks?lang=en

could be a good starting point
cheers

When I tell somebody to RTFM or STFW I usually have the page open in another tab/window of my browser,
so that I am sure that the information requested can be reached with a very small effort 8-)
