Hi,
Is there way I can learn SAS using some emulator? And also can this allow to practice with SMF records on mainframes or mimic them? Any pointers are of great help.

There is a package called World Programming System (http://www.teamwpc.co.uk/products/wps) which is not free but has a free 30-day evaluation period. You would need to provide your own SMF data (which could be problematic due to variable length binary data).
