Mathematics websites.

Post by Jina Baruah »

Hi,

I know it's a mainframe forum but I think people relatred to computers also like mathematics so trying my luck out here.

Do you know some websites (your personal favourites) where you can learn/practice shortcuts for mathematics problems similar to which come in tests like GMAT?

Thanks for reading this off topic.

Hello,

Your question is little too general to get a good response. There can be a primary school mathematics and than there can be advance mathematics and anything in between. If you google, you will find many of them. I'll list some of them, which I used once in a while:

http://www.basic-mathematics.com/
http://www.math.com/
http://www.vedicmaths.org/
http://www.magicalmethods.in/freevedicmaths/
Thanks,
Anuj

When I tell somebody to RTFM or STFW I usually have the page open in another tab/window of my browser,
so that I am sure that the information requested can be reached with a very small effort 8-)

Thanks Anuj and enrico-sorichetti.

Do you come across a website where you can solve the problem, submit the solution and see the explanation about the question. Solutions not in programming language but as we solve with pen and paper... sorry if I'm poking too much...

My personal experience which helped in cracking some of the exams .. Speed maths .. All you need to do is practice practice practice so some numbers like 1/125 should be seen as 1/25*1/5=.04 * .2 = 0.008

I follow this Vedic maths

Also another trick is you should practice such a way that you are able to find the wrong answer in the option also this comes on practice :)

It helped me in cracking IIT exams
