Static sql vs Dynamic Sql

Hi all,

I got a question on what is the difference between a static sql and a dynamic sql.....

I replied saying Static sql is freezed at compile time and Dynamic is only prepared and freezed at run time

I then got a question saying Are sql's with host variable a Dynamic sql , I was confised with that

Can someone throw some light on this?
