Set the return code on wish based on the number of records in input file.

Hi,

Is there a trick available in SORT using which I can set-up a return code of a job step based on the number of records in the input file? Like RC=18 if the file has got more than 180 records?

if the requirement can be satisfied by DFSORT/ICETOOL return code values
then You can do it using icetool
read the manual about the COUNT command

if the requirement is for an ARBITRARY/NONSTANDARD return code You will have to resort to IDCAMS
read the manual about the COUNT clause of repro/print
and how to query set the idcams return code

cheers

When I tell somebody to RTFM or STFW I usually have the page open in another tab/window of my browser,
so that I am sure that the information requested can be reached with a very small effort 8-)
