SDF II and Numeric Values.

Post by Binamra »

Hi,

I've defined a MAP using SDF II and using an input field which I intend to store in a DB2 table as decimal. So I've declared it as comp-3 in the program but the map from SDF-II would make the field defined as PIC 9(n) as PIC X(n) - and that makes me to put extra code to handle the input values from the user. Is there a better way to do it?

That's the annoying quirk of SDF II - unless 'am mistaken 'the extra code' will be needed. Though I'm not very sure if the SDF II can provide remedy of its own!
Thanks,
Anuj

Thanks for the feedback. But I just hope that we'll get some one more experienced with SDF II and prove us wrong .
Thanks,
Anuj
