Finding CICS information centers.

Post by Anuj Dhawan » Fri Jul 12, 2013 10:36 pm

Question
How do you find CICS product documentation for CICS Transaction Server for z/OS (CICS TS), CICS on z/VSE, and the CICS tools?
Answer
The best place to find CICS product documentation is to use the CICS TS information centers. Documentation for the latest versions of the CICS Tools is also included in the CICS TS information centers. Each release of CICS has its own information center that you can view on the http://www.ibm.com" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; web site or install on a workstation or server.
For information on CICS for VSE, see the z/VSE documentation page for a list of libraries. Note that the VSE documentation is not available in an information center.

The CICS information centers are powered by Eclipse technology and run on a number of platforms, including z/OS. Each information center contains a number of document plug-ins that contain the CICS documentation in HTML and PDF formats. A plug-in is a set of files that are designed to run in an Eclipse framework. See the Eclipse website for more information.
