Screenscraping in CICS is the same as screenscraping in any other application -- including web pages. In general, screen scraping is taking a legacy application screen (although it can be done for any application) that was designed for human interactions (that is, a terminal output screen), reading the data from that screen, and using the data in the application. Software is used to do this -- Google data extraction software to find out more. Google and Amazon both have software to screen scrape web pages (also called web scraping).
