Hi all,
I am new to MQ series and would need help on one the things I am working on. We've a system in JAVA which will talk with Mainframes. We have decided to use MQ to get the data from mainframes as messages. First qustion is - Is it possible? I think it is. Please let me know if it's correct?
I need to ask one more thing, on mainframe do we have to have some licensed MQ series component installed in order to let the java system interact with it which is having licensed MQ?
Please help me. If you can suggest a good resource for MQ series, it will be great help.
Thanks
Need help on MQ Series.

Re: Need help on MQ Series.
Yes, It is possible.. But I just wonder why not let Java and CICS interact with each other instead of MQ?
If you need to know if MQ is installed or not a crude way is to check your CICS jobs or talk to your system admin
There are ample books on MQ in IBM knowledge center
