JCL time limit for making the Job complete by some time.

Post by Shuku »

Hi,

Is there any parameter we can specify in a JCL that can intimate zOS that the current job should be completed by this time? For example, if we give <some-parameter>=11:00 means the JOB will be completed by 11. I heard that there is a parameter supplied by JES2. However I am unable to find it. Please help.

z/OS has no such facility. What you are talking about is called job scheduling and there are a number of products on the market (NOT free) that do this -- CA-7, ZEKE, Control-M, Tivoli among them.

I hope you're not confusing TIME keyword with what you've asked for, yeah? I know of no such parameter in JCL and agree with Robert...
Thanks,
Anuj
