How to catalog VSAM datasets to be accessed from two lpars.

We have some LPARs in our SYSPLEx. In one LPAR, LPAR-1, I have restored some VSAM datasets and they have been catalogued in the mastercat for LPAR-1. We need these VSAM datasets to be catalogued on LPAR-2. Mastercat of LPAR-1 is already import connected as a usercat to LPAR-2, but we are not able to see the datasets.

I am not very familiar with VSAM or Catalog manipulation for this purpose. Could someone advise on how I can resolve this?

Importing and connecting a catalog is a static operation -- the system won't go back out every time a change is made to the master catalog and update the user catalog. It sounds like you may need to catalog the data set in both catalogs yourself, or work with your site support group to get the LPARs sharing a catalog.
