SMS Compressible YES and NO for a dataset on mainframes.

Post by suman_forum »

Hi,

On my system, I observed a file that has got "SMS Compressible" set to "YES". When I allocate an another file that also shows the same attribute. However, on another LPAR, I have seen "SMS Compressible" set to "NO". I want to figure out what this attribute does and how much compression is applied, if it is set to YES? Any help on this please.
