Renaming the migrated dataset with IDCAMS.

Hi,

For an exercise we need to rename migrated datasets. We used IDCAMS ALTER for this. But SMS recalls the migrated dataset when we issue ALTER command using IDCAMS to rename the dataset. Can you suggest a way rename the migrated dataset without recalling it??

I doubt it can be done. The data set name is in the catalog. Migrated data set names are stored in the HSM data base. To rename a migrated data set, you must change the catalog but you must also change the HSM data base -- so renaming a data set pretty much requires a recall of the migrated data set.
