Import COBOL source library to a desktop PC?

Post by Neeraj N »

Hi,

Can anyone of you please tell me if there is any way using which we can import from a COBOL source library on mainframe to a desktop PC?

That will depend -- is the COBOL source library a PDS? Endevor or Pan Valet or LIBRARIAN or something else? For a PDS, a simple FTP from the PC to the mainframe works fine -- turn off prompting, use the CD FTP subcommand to navigate to the fully qualified PDS name, and issue the MGET * subcommand in FTP. Other source code management packages usually have a way to unload all the source but it may require specialized JCL -- see the manuals for the precise possibilities and requirements.
