In one of the programs I've seen that they are using PROCEDURE-POINTER phrase. I have been trying to understand if knowing the code behind the commands like MOVE and knowing Assembler can help me to understand COBOL better. As such it's not need for my career but to learn more.

That's a way but any debugger we need to purchase, is it possible to see execution in some freely available debugger on a desktop PC?

I'm sending attachement using IEBGENER as comma-delimited file. So as per your asnser, I need to ask the front end to add the password in the excel?

Hi All ,

I need to send a mainframe report as an attachment in the email which I'm able to do but this report is opend as excel sheet which should be password protected excel sheet. Can we set the password of the excel in mainframes itself some way?

I have been using FTP frequently and it works all well but it gets interrupted when TSO SEND is issued. Is there any way to stop this?

Correct. Leave them if they already exist. Don't code them in new programs. When changing programs and adding a SELECT, do one or the other depending on the strategy for adding the code (sometimes you want the code to "blend in" with the rest of the program, sometimes that is not necessar...
