Re: Handling Nordic character in 'text-to-columns' in excel.

not able to find a good example
i.e. one that gives the EXACT solution to MY problem.
I am not very aware about the code page concept, could you please elaborate it
I would hate to think how many hits you would get when googling 'code page'.

The forum is not a tutorial/teaching service.

No idea what you are talking about! Please give an example. Why did it not succeed? JCL error, abend, processed OK but gave wrong results, something else?

Re: Site Update 9 : Theme over the weekends.

You can change it yourself. Mine is full width except the logon screen. As you have been reading through all these posts you should have seen the one that tells you how to make the change.

Re: How to determine CI size by key length?

file length
What does this mean? In general there are no 'files' on zOS but data sets. Data sets do not have a 'length' but records do. Try reading the VSAM Demystified red-book.

Re: Various ways to solve S0C7.

Why not search for S0C7 on the forum and the internet and come up with a list?
Real programmers (not me) read the dump and determine from there what needs to be done.

Re: Moderator's Interview Series: Akatsukami.

Not relevant in this forum. Go away and get the manual, read it, set up some test data and start playing and understanding. If you do not do it yourself you will not understand it.

Re: Moderator's Interview Series: nicc.

When you employ 100,000 people are you going to run your payroll on a PC? Any large organisation is going to run organisation-wide applications on a largecomputer, but not necessarily a mainframe.

Akshypal,
What do you mean? Did you not read the manual extract quoted by Robert? Are you saying that the manual is wrong?

It is shown to any person who invokes the query whether they be a sysprog or a child minder - although what a child minder would be doing using TSO/ISPF I have no idea!

Right. But it is still copyroghted and all that that means. Generally, that means that you can only pass it on if you delete all copies that you have yourself.

Re: How to make my REXX available everytime.

Many companies (but not all) have some process whereby a user's personal libraries can be added to the concatenations in the logon procedure. However, there is no standard way of doing this. so you will have to a) find out if there is a way and b) what that way is.
