Re: Handling "@" character in different code pages in mainframes.
Thanks prino. Sorry it's EMEA. In Germany, the point of entry in Rumba, code page is CP273, which encodes the @ symbol in the email address as X’B5’ (and the § “section sign” as X’7C’). So to answer your question for EMEA it's CP273. On further investigation, I came to know that - "as a general...

Thanks Robert.
Is there no common library on zOS, like "Program Files" on windows where we could the possible programs installed already though it won't tell abut their usage but "last updated" date might give a hint. There is not something similar in mainframes?

Re: Check software which have not run in last six months.
16621 the answer depends on the reason of the research. - cost saving , -- 1 - see if the software You want to get rid of writes smf records -- 2 - look at the docs to find the main executable and look at the smf records for program loads and ... process the smf data accordingly - for any other rea...

Check software which have not run in last six months.
Hi there,
What are the possible way to identify, on mainframes zOS 2.1, to check software which have not run in last six months? Can someone please advise on this?
I did search on the search-engines, one of the search is listed here but I could not really figure out a satisfactory answer about it.

MXG and MICS alternative.
Hi,
Are there some alternative to MXG and MICS along with SAS if we want to look at SMF reports from CPU utilization, MSU usage point of view? Or possibly something which we can use for the "chargeback mode in mainframes"?

Hi Lbdyck,
May be it is only me who feels like this but most of your posts are like if you are endorsing yourself? Is not it that if you get involved with the Forum in answering, it'll help us all for better community and your solutions will also get better responses!?

Can you share your solution for the benefit of others. I am not sure what exactly worked for you as what Nic said and what Anuj has said, are two very different arguments.

I think the latest follow up is in connection with the previous question, in that case, do you think that we should still separate this out from the original thread?

This 1. Extract the column from DB2. How do you extract - did you mean that you unload it? If yes, it all becomes very simple. But this statement of your All this I plan to do with just a JCL/DB2 and without writing a cobol program. What do you suggest? changes all the game. I don't see a better way...

Re: Memory and Storage and mainframes.
I think you can not consider the statement "In the IBM mainframe world, the term memory is not used and is always referred as storage" universally. It's too bold to say that, as Robert has also indicated it might depend on the terminology a shop opts to use but that does NOT dictate it as ...

What SMF record/s are collected for ADABAS?
Hi,
I'm at a new shop and support team is not very friendly here. I was wondering how can I figure out which SMF records for Natural/ADABAS are being captured?
What are standard SMF records are captured in general, for a Natural/ADABAS shop? Please advise.
