Hi, In one of the COBOL programs, it reads a VSAM dataset. When the file is empty program ends with a VSAM status code. The file is opened in INPUT or I-O mode. I see STAYS code handling in COBOL program but I do not want to handle it in program rather in a JCL. Can I do that? Can you please suggest...

Can we copy a VSAM file to a PDS member on mainframes?

I have a VSAM file, My.VSAM.file. And want to copy it to a PDS, named My.PDS in a new member. Can this be done, please guide.

Thanks Enrico. Robert: Remember that an alternate index CANNOT be defined until there is at least one record in the base. If you set the high-used RBA to zero, you no longer have any records in the base -- so what happens to the alternate index records that were defined on that base? they are gone? :?

You need to find the ISPF bookshelf and read up on profiles. Also, if a data set has no lower-case characters when ISPF edit opens the data set, there is an implicit CAPS ON done if CAPS OFF is set; the opposite is also true (CAPS OFF will be done if there are lower case characters). So what should...
