Re: Find the free CA space for a VSAM file or catalog.

You may have free space in the CI as well as in the CA. Furthermore, if there have been CA splits then there can be CA free space that is considered part of the HI-U-RBA value. So merely knowing the amount of free CA space does not indicate that you know the free space in the data set; the free spa...

Re: A question on Connect:Direct.

Thanks Robert.

We have C:D installed on our mainframes but I am not sure if it is installed on the windows server, where we want to send the files. I have been trying to find it but they are business users and do not if C:D is running on the server.

A question on Connect:Direct.

Hi, We used to have some reports sent to a printer. Now this printer is going away and the business want us to move the files to a path. They use Fusion to send the files to that new path. We also have Connect:Direct and I'm thinking if we can use Connect:Direct for this. Unfortunately, at offshore ...

Is page a physical entity in DB2?

Hi,

What exactly do we call a PAGE in DB2? Is PAGE a logical or a physical entity? As far I know, TABLEs are logical objects in DB2 and TABLESPACEs are physical object, in this context, how where do the definition of PAGE falls in?
Thanks inadvance for any help on this.

Re: Hello All!

Hello Pradeep and Welcome to the Forums, Moving to a development project should not be a big challenge. But this question can be best answered by someone at your shop. If I were you, I'd ask to my superior and the superior from Development team. Tell them my aspirations. Before doing that, you can ...

Re: Books for learning REXX and SAS.

Thanks.

In my search of learning REXX I found that there is OOREXX which can be used at home PC to learn REXX. Is it very much similar to REXX on mainframes or it is significantly different?

I don't find a way to practice SAS though. :(

Hello All!

Hi,

I am working in a mainframe company on Support mostly. But get to work in development too. I work with COBOL, JCL and VSAM.

Can I move to a pure development project? What should I learn more for this?

Thanks,
